Kintampo youth Parliament Innuagrated

A youth parliament composed of of young men and women from various Youth groups and institutions was, on Friday, September 4, 2020 Innuagrated at the kintampo Municipal Assembly Hall.

The youth parliament is meant to creat an opportunity for the youth in Kintampo to learn the basic Parliamentary proceedings in order to prepare them for the future.
It is also meant to be served and an agent for the development of Kintampo as members are expected to work towards the development of their respective communities.
It completely non partizan.

At the ceremony, the speaker of Parliament, his two deputies as well as leadership from both sides;majority and minority, and the entire membership were sworn in.

The speaker, RIGHT HON. DANJUMA YAARO, was sworn in by the Municipal chief executive, MCE for kintampo North Municipal, Hon. Michael Sarkodie Boffoe who also served as the chairman for the occasion, whilst the leadership and members of the house were sworn in by the speaker.

Hon OKYERE HENEKU GODWIN and Hon. GEDION KWAME SARKODIE a.K.a Big Brass are the two deputy speakers whilst
Hon. MUNIRU YAARO Mohammed and Hon. MUBARAK SEIDU are the leaders for the Majority and minority respectively.

What happened after the swearing ceremony

The speaker of the house, Rt. Hon. Danjuma Yaaro, after the swearing in, called for normal Parliamentary proceedings to be undertaken.
Apologies from both sides of the house were given by both the majority and minority led by Muniru Yaaro and Mabarak SEIDU respectively after which the business of the day conducted.

Business of the Day
Hon. Muniru Yaaro from the majority side moved for the business of the day to carry on which was seconded by his colleague Hon. Mubarak Seidu from the minority side.
The business of the day was centered on on the Theme for the occasion, ” *VIGILANTISM IN GHANA’S POLITICS: THE ROLE OF THE YOUTH” on which the guess speaker, Dr. Kwabena Opoku Adusei spoke.

He mentioned that the root cause of VIGILANTISM in the country is youth unemployment. He therefore, admonised the youth to take their education which is one of the surest ways of getting jobs seriously . This, he stressed, when done, will help reduce unemployment amongst the youth and by extension, reduce acts of vigilantism in the country.

Hon. Michael Sarkodie Boffoe, the MCE for kintampo North and chairman for the ceremony, the NDC parliamentary candidate for kintampo North and Hajia Fati Bamba, the Bono East Regional Director of the National Youth Authoritye, NYA, all spoke one language in relation to the issue of vigilantism.
They both called on the youth to conduct themselves well before, during and after the December 2020 elections
