God isn’t gender biased
Speaking on the topic “Christian leadership and how gender equality is encouraged in the church” on abrabo mu nsem; Pastor Rexford Williams, founder of Royal Word Ministries at Spintex and Pastor Joash B- Whyte, Missions Director of Apostolic Order Network shared their thoughts.
According to Pastor Williams, most women compliment men and men alike; and that each had their own strengths and weaknesses. He thus quoted from Genesis 1:27 “so God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them”. Hence if God in His own wisdom created man and woman in His own image and likeness why would we whom He created cause disparities. He stressed that, Apostle Paul in the book of Galatians 3:28 affirms that “There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus”. He also cautioned that women are emotional therefore often gullible; and cautioned that, women should know themselves better and try have control of their emotions.
Speaking on the matter, Pastor Joash B-Whyte said God is not gender biased and it is in his domain as their creator to make or unmake them and hence put them in a high office. Pastor Whyte made these assertions when asked if women could also occupy high offices or positions in the church.
It would be noted that although most women make up a greater percentage of churches nonetheless, many women are marginalized when it comes to taking up high offices in churches. Pastor Whyte said he had observed that some women have a habit of wanting to compete with their male counterparts in church just to see who’s better which he thinks is wrong. He says “you can work for God but, not to be better in your own eyes; for God is the ultimate judge”. He further said that when the competition of ‘better than another’ sets in pride pops up then sabotage also follows suite. It takes two (2) to tango. Each person is there to help the other. He further noted that women must however be wary of how they deal with others while climbing the career ladder. Furthermore the two pastors stated that gender equality should be of the utmost key to every religion.
