The Ghana Airport Workers Union has embarked on serious protest against the Privatisation of Kotaka International Airport between Government of Ghana and Turkish Consortium TAV / SUMMA.
Information gathered by Hot News indicates that, Government of Ghana under the Aviation minister, Hon Joseph Kofi Adda has signed 15 years take over agreement of the Kotoka International Airport(KIA) between Turkish Consortium TAV/SUMMA.
Speaking to the media, some of the workers of Kotoka International Airport says they will not allow any foreign company to privatize the Airport.
According to them KIA is the only place they earn their income so Government must not do any act that will affect them.
Documents intercepted by Hot News Reporter Nyansakyeame Yaw Boadi indicated that, the agreement was finalised dated 2nd June,2020 but the whole process started 2017.
Meanwhile, the General Secretary of Public Services Workers Union (PSWU) Mr. Bernard Adjei appealed to the KIA workers to be calmed as the Executives are going to have a meeting with Management of KIA.
He said, they have had engagement with the management of the situation to find out the truth about the proposal on board to know about the situation thier positions at the Airport.
