SUPREME COURT RULING AGAINST VOTER REGISTER WAS NOT FAIR TO THE PEOPLE OF GHANA–NDC
The Deputy Communication Officer of the National Democratic Congress(NDC), Mr.Apaah Martin, is upset with the final verdict of Supreme Court between his party (NDC) and the Electoral Commission (EC) over the compilation of a new voters’ register.
Mr. Apaah Martin in an interview with Edubiaseman fm’s morning show MAAKYE host Nana Boro,The Supreme Court has ruled that the Electoral Commission should go ahead and compile a new voters’ register.The seven-member panel of Justices presided over by Chief Justice Anin Yeboah gave the ruling on thursday, 25th June2020.
According to him, NDC are not happy with the ruling and we have every right to disagree with the court. This is bad and it’s going to affect this country as a whole.The ruling is full of inconsistency and confusion, the verdict will not affect the NDC party but Ghanaians because we the NDC were fighting for Ghanaians, he told Nana Boro.
In his conclusion, he said, i’m urging all the good people of Ghana to go and register for his/her good purpose of the Voter ID and vote out the New Patriotic Party (NPP) led by Nana Addo in this coming general election.
