REGSEC, STAKEHOLDERS IN HEALTH SECTOR AND POLICE TO REINFORCE COVID 19 PROTCOLS.
In compliance with the directives from the President on his 26th address on covid-19, the Greater Accra regional security council led by the regional minister HENRY QUARTEY , the regional public health emergency management committee , the regional Police command and the regional health directorate of the Ghana health service have issued a directive binding on all assemblies at various regions that, there should be mandatory adherence to all covid-19 safety protocols at all event in all regions. All security councils in various assemblies are also to embark on routine checks at all public places including schools, markets, lorry stations and public transports. The directive also states that all assemblies and security councils must ensure that funerals and all related activities must be held in open space within two hours and any person caught flouting these directives will be arrested, fined or prosecuted to serve as deterrent to others. REGSEC however appealed to the traditional, religious, political and opinion leaders to be at the fore front of this drive and campaign in order to curtail the steep increase in the covid-19 cases.
